Electric Wizard brings the doom to a sold out Slim’s in San Francisco during their first U.S. tour in over ten years.
Long considered one on the most influential bands in doom metal history, Electric Wizard performed songs from their extensive back catalogue, including “Witchcult,” “Black Mass,” and “Time To Die,” while a sold out crowd lost their collective minds. Vocalist/Guitarist Justin Oborn and his wife and fellow guitarist Liz Buckingham delivered the sludgy guitar riffs that have been such a huge part of the Electric Wizard sound, while the rhythm section of Clayton Burgess on bass and Simon Poole behind the drum kit made every song sound even heavier than they sound recorded.
Support for the evening came from Satan’s Satyrs, a three-piece power chord psychedelic rock band hailing from Virginia, who were the perfect act to open the show.
