US based Grammy Award winning blues virtuoso Jonny Lang returns with his first studio album in four years.

It is hard to believe that at only 36 years old Jonny Lang has already had a successful career spanning two decades. Hailed as somewhat of a guitar prodigy, Lang astonishingly released his first platinum record at the young age of 15. Since that point, he has gone on to establish himself as one of the finest contemporary blues artists of his generation.

As an album, Signs portrays the many different facets of Jonny Lang, which are all rather eloquently tied together by his exquisite guitar playing and his incredibly soulful voice throughout the record.

Having been influenced by blues greats like Albert Collins, B. B. King, and Buddy Guy tracks like the gospel tinged album opener “Make It Move”, “Wisdom” and the incredibly infectious “Into The Light” have an underlying old school groove which conjures up images of the blues men of yore. The latter of which also has a huge chorus which simply sweeps you away.

Lang picks up the pace with blues rock numbers like “Snakes” and the hard hitting rhythm of “Last Man Standing”, which has been receiving a lot of airplay recently from the likes of Planet Rock Radio.

Heartfelt slow blues ballads like the epic “Bring Me Back Home” really highlight Lang’s incredible vocal range. Whilst, on the other hand, up beat soulful, funky tracks like “What You’re Made Of” and “Stronger Together” shifts the record away from the old school blues sound and brings it right up to the present day.

With his release, Lang has delivered a nicely balanced modern day soulful blues rock record which will please both the purists and music fans on the whole.

Signs by Jonny Lang will be released in the UK/Europe on Friday 25th August via Mascot Label Group/Provogue.

Jonny Lang will also be performing at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 4th November, for further details please visit the social media links outlined below.
