The Brian Setzer Orchestra brought a special type of Christmas cheer to fans of Kalamazoo, Michigan, in their 4th stop of their 2016, holiday tour.

An incredibly diverse audience filled the seats of the sold-out State Theater of Kalamazoo, Michigan, awaiting the arrival of a very special Christmas surprise. All ages were represented as well as rockabilly, swing, big band, and bebop fans, whom eagerly awaited the arrival of the Orchestra’s 20 member band, featuring hall of fame guitar slinger, Brian Setzer.

As the Orchestra took their places, Brian launched the group into a toe-tapping version of “Rockin Around the Christmas Tree.” Young and old were all bopping to the Christmas groove as concert goers came to life in their seats.

The Orchestra continued through a generous set list that included material from all three of their Christmas albums, including the most recent “Rockin Rudolph.”

Stray Cat fans were given a Christmas surprise when the BSO gang played “Stray Cat Strut,” “Gene and Eddie,” “Sexy and Seventeen,” and the iconic “Rock This Town.” Every song brought it’s own unique surprise, featuring instrumental solos from various members of the Orchestra, to the guitar wizardry of Brain Setzer.

The holiday set list covered nearly twenty songs, including Orchestra favorites “Jump Jive and Wail,” “Sleepwalk,” and “Hoodoo Voodoo Doll.” What could top this Christmas package you ask? A pair of doo-wop girls, bringing the entire big band experience, full circle.

This is a holiday event that is perfect for any and all music fans. Guaranteed to get your toe tapping, finger snapping, and hands clapping, you will be hard pressed to sit in your seats as The Brian Setzer Orchestra performs true Christmas magic.
