Andrew W.K. happily returns to Michigan for Pyramid Scheme’s 4-year anniversary with very special guests, Alexis.

Party Hard. That’s exactly what Andrew W.K.‘s mission is from beginning to end. From the moment he stepped on stage to the second he left, the crowd didn’t stop moving. The Pyramid Scheme hosted Andrew W.K. with special guests, Alexis, for their four-year anniversary sold out show. The energy level was high, the high-fives were even higher and huge smiles were strewn across the entire venue. Being from Michigan, Andrew was more than happy to be back playing a packed show full of energized fans in his home state.

At four years old, Andrew began learning classical piano at the University of Michigan School of Music. In 1993 he joined the band Slam, later to be called Reverse Polarity. He released his first solo album I Get Wet in 2001, and from then on he has been going strong since. Outside of this work, he also writes, and there has also been rumors that he will be publishing, The Party Bible, which was announced back in September of 2013.

He performed a lot of hits from all different albums which included, “It’s time to Party,” “Party Hard,” “We Want Fun,” and “Ready to Die.” They even taught everyone how to do the American Two-Step dance. On top of that, his hype-man sang alongside him, gave out free t-shirts to the crowd, and made sure everyone was having a great time. Also, Stage diving isn’t unheard of at a show like this… countless fans jumped on and off the stage, some with beer still in hand.

Supporting Andrew W.K. was Grand Rapids’ own, Alexis, who put on a fun dance party to all of their well-known songs, including, “Feel 4 U.”

Andrew W.K. will be playing their next Michigan show this Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the Metro Times Blowout in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall.
