Upcoming tour w/ Alesana, Megosh, and The Things They Carried.

(Atlanta, GA) – Five-piece rock band The Funeral Portrait has partnered with AbsolutePunk.net to premiere their new song “Wax Poetic” off their debut EP For The Dearly Departed. The quintet announced earlier this month that they signed a deal with North Carolina record label Revival Recordings (owned by Shawn Milke of Alesana). The six song EP was produced by Milke and engineered/mixed by Neil Engle at Adelaide Recording Studios in Raleigh.

“Producing The Funeral Portrait record was an incredible experience,” says Milke. “It is so refreshing to be around a band that has a vision and is willing to put in the hard work and go the extra mile to bring that vision to life. Signing them was a no-brainer for me. The sky is truly the limit for TFP.”

The Funeral Portrait guitarist/vocalist Juergie Landstrom adds “Working with Shawn and Neil was by far the most comfortable experience I’ve ever had in the studio. Shawn pushes us to be the best version of ourselves and that’s one of many reasons why we are all so proud of this EP. I’m super excited to show everyone the final product.”

For The Dearly Departed will be released on 9/23, during which time the band will be on the “Chaos Is A Ladder” tour. Other acts on the bill include Alesana, Megosh, and The Things They Carried.

The Funeral Portrait is a five-piece pop-rock outfit hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. Consisting of vocalist Lee Jennings, guitarist/vocalist Juergie Landstrom, guitars AJ Pekarek, bassist Chris King, and drummer Stephen Danzey, the band blends elements of rock and roll, heavy metal, and theatre all under a blanket of pop sensibility as they paint their stories of love, loss, anger, and grief onto a canvas of skillfully crafted songs. Having shared the stage with We Came As Romans, Silverstein, Dance Gavin Dance, and Cartel, The Funeral Portrait will be hitting the road with Alesana this fall on the Chaos Is A Ladder tour in support of their debut EP For The Dearly Departed, produced by Shawn Milke. For The Dearly Departed will be available September 23rd via Revival Recordings, the band having inked a deal this summer with the Raleigh, NC based record label.
