Brooklyn-based black metal revelers Mutilation Rites have just announced a series of February co-headlining dates alongside hardcore group Full of Hell. The two-week jaunt will kick off in Richmond, VA on Feb. 15 and conclude in the band’s hometown on Feb. 28. Following the tour, the band will return to the studio to record their second full-length album, the follow-up to the acclaimed “Empyrean” (named one of Decibel’s Top 40 releases of 2012).
Described as “urban, quick-pulsed USBM that feels stately and epic, but booze-soaked and feral” (Pitchfork), Mutilation Rites recently confirmed their participation in this year’s Maryland Death Fest alongside the likes of Gorguts, Immolation, and Candlemass. Known for their DIY work ethic and relentless tours of the underground circuit, the band has recently shared the staged with the likes of Skeletonwitch, Eyehategod, Inter Arma, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death and Origin in addition to appearing at several prestigious festivals including South By Southwest and the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival.
