Night Terrors of 1927 celebrated the release of their first full length album, “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” with a packed show at the Roxy Theater.

The vibe was jubilant as the duo, consisting of Jarrod Gorbel (The Honorary Title) and Blake Sennett (Rilo Kiley), handed out roses to the adoring audience throughout the set, a subtle reinforcement of the album title.

Night Terrors of 1927 played songs from their new album, such as “Always Take You Back,” “Dust and Bones,” and the Smiths-influenced “It Would be an Honor,” as well as “Fall Into You” and “Young and Vicious” from their earlier Guilty Pleas EP. They also did a fantastic cover of the Romantics hit “Talking In Your Sleep,” which fit in seamlessly with the Night Terrors theme.

Madi Diaz filled in for Tegan and Sara as guest performer on “When You Were Mine.” Fun fact: Madi Diaz opened for Jarrod Gorbel at the Bootleg Theater, at his first show after moving to L.A. It’s all connected.

This was Night Terrors of 1927’s only Los Angeles date before Coachella. But, between now and then, you can catch them on tour with Bleachers and Joywave.
