Progressive-thrash metal veterans, Mastodon, were recently in Chicago and rocked the Riveria Theater. With them are Bayonne, France based death metal unit, Gojira.
I had the pleasure of photographing Gojira and Mastodon on May 8th at the historical Riviera Theatre in Chicago. Both bands compliment each other well on stage and, although the photo pit was pretty tight, I managed to get a few shots that could possibly be worthy of such great bands.
Gojira and Mastadon are wrapping up the spring tour season and are getting ready for summer festivals. Mastodon will return to Chicago September 12-14 for Riot Fest Music Festival and Carnival in Humboldt Park. Look for their new album Once More ‘Round The Sun on June 24th of this year.
