What happens when hard rock heavyweights Gilby Clarke, Chuck Wright, and Stephen Perkins get together with some of their friends to jam?

Gilby Clarke (Guns ‘n’Roses) and Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot) have been hosting the hottest show in Hollywood in the least likely of places, Lucky Strike bowling alley. In the midst of the boulevard stars and sightseeing buses they have managed to create a true rock and roll mecca. Their weekly jams have quickly become the thing of legend.

Gilby has been doing this kind of thing for a long time, starting with Trash in the 80’s and continuing in the 90’s at the Cat Club. More recently, his legendary jam sessions were taking place at Lucy 51 in Toluca Lake.

In January, Gilby and Chuck Wright, along with Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, resumed their weekly jams at Lucky Strike Live. This past week was week 5, and featured such guest stars as Dug Pinnick, Francesco Dicosmo, Ann Boleyn & Ira Black, members of ThundHerstruck, Neil Turbin, Damon Fox, Heather Lounsbury, Debby Holiday, and 16-year old metal sensation Gabbie Rae, who wowed the audience with her fabulous vocals on “Sweet Child O’ Mine.”

The free Wednesday night shows are packed, so get there early if you want to be able to see the action. Where else can you regularly see this level of musicianship in such an intimate setting?
