Horror punk rockers Grave Robber lay siege to the Token Lounge spreading their musical pestilence.
Based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Grave Robber is the brainchild creation of founding members Wretched and Carcass. Though considered a Christian metal band, they bring their message through a uniquely visual and terrifying stage performance.
Citing influences as diverse as The Cure to Type O Negative to Stryper, they have gathered a devout following across the midwest since forming in 2005. With five albums released, they recently embarked upon a small tour of the Midwest region including a stop at The Token Lounge, in Westland, Michigan on June 12, 2015.
Compact Deity provided the opening support for the evening. The band has been recording and writing music in the Detroit area since 2006 with various members coming and going over the years. The current incarnation has been supporting their sophomore full-length release, Evil Eye, the first since 2011 with tours across the USA.
Providing direct support was Detroit hardcore punk band, Come Out Fighting. Formed in 2010, they have two full-length albums under their belt with the 2013 release of Fair Use. Known for their high energy performances everywhere the play, the band is currently finishing up their third album, set to be released this year, followed by a series of gigs to promote it.
Photographer Rob Somerville was on hand to capture the images and action of the night.
