Chicago-based, three-piece Chevelle roared in to Detroit, in support of their newest release, La Gargola.
Chevelle rocked out for an excited Thursday night crowd at The Fillmore in Detroit. The band is currently touring in support of their latest album, La Gargola, released on April 1, 2014, and streamed on iTunes March 25, 2014. The album has been said to deliver the unique, classic Chevelle sound fans have come to expect.
Notorious for their reputation as dirty groove rockers, Crobot provided the support necessary and had the crowd fired up for the main act to follow. Originally from Potsville, Pennsylvania, Crobot brought a grungy, hard rock sound with fast-paced rhythm and upbeat vocals that paired perfectly with Chevelle’s heavy, but pensive sound.
Their live performance also stayed true to form, with high energy vocals from Pete Loeffler, and an astonishingly passionate performance from percussionist Sam Loeffler and bass guitarist Dean Bernardini.
Chevelle left the crowd happy with their extensive setlist, which included: “An Island”, “Hats Off to the Bull”, “Sleep Apnea”, “Jars”, “The Clincher”, “Family System”, “Take Out the Gunman”, “Jawbreaker”, “Still Running”, “I Get It”, “Straight Jacket Fashion”, “Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)”, “Forfeit”, “Send the Pain Below”, “The Red”, “Comfortable Liar”, and “Face to the Floor.”
