California’s biggest rock festival, Monster Energy Aftershock, is set to return to the state capitol at Discovery Park for its fifth annual installment.

Tool and Avenged Sevenfold will headline the festival. The lineup also includes Slayer, Primus, Meshuggah, Anthrax, Ghost, The Pretty Reckless, Suicide Silence, Death Angel, and White Chape on the bill.

“We’re excited to give fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Primus, Slayer, Korn, Disturbed and the rest of this great lineup …” says Aftershock festival producer Danny Wimmer.

Discovery Park is, according to Wimmer, a “unique venue” that will allow them to create a festival experience on a “grand scale” while still allowing for an intimate setting.

“We couldn’t be more excited that Aftershock is returning to Discovery Park, the festival’s original home in Sacramento,” said Mike Testa, COO of Visit Sacramento. The festival is likely to have a large, positive financial impact on the city he explained.

Monster Energy Aftershock festival is partnering with the Sacramento County Department of Regional Parks for the Life Looks Good On You water safety campaign to encourage people to wear life jackets.

This year’s festival will also offer on-site experiences such as Monster Energy Drink sampling, the Jack Daniels Experience, Coors Light Sports Bar, Keep Golf Metal, and the Make Your Mark Graffiti Zone.
