Mayhem returns after six year wait when the 2015 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival stops in San Antonio.
The Mayhem Festival was originally scheduled to be held at the Whitewater Amphitheater in nearby New Braunfels but was relocated to the Alamo City Music Hall in downtown San Antonio. The venue was not important to the energetic heavy metal fans, as they packed in tight with near 100 degree temperatures to see Slayer, King Diamond, Hellyeah, and The Devil Wears Prada playing on the main stage.
Unlike the other tour stops, the Victory Records stage in San Antonio was unique and held inside. This was a darker, more intimate setting, allowing fans to cool off after moshing to the bands Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, Jungle Rot, Sister Sin, Sworn In, Shattered Sun, Code Orange, Kissing Candice, and Feed Her To the Sharks.
The crowd was intense for the entire day and absolutely went insane as Slayer closed out the festival, hoping it’s not another six years before the mayhem returns to San Antonio.
Photographer Ralph Arvesen was on hand to capture the action of the day.
