Iron Reagan at the White Owl Social Club in Portland, OR on 26-Aug-2014

Concert Reviews

Doom Metal veteran Graves at Sea wreaked havoc at the White Owl Social Club with punk/thrash great Iron Reagan.

What started as a beautiful, hot late summer day devolved into chaos as Iron Reagan took the stage at the White Owl in Portland, OR.

The show began with Graves at Sea (Portland, OR) opening the night and getting the crowd fired up.  Graves lineup consists of Nick Phit (guitar), Nathan Misterek (vocals), Bryan Sours (drums), and Jeff Mcgarity (bass). The sludge metal, doom lords had no problem riling up fans in the packed venue. They played in near dark stage and their fans crowded in as close as possible with little room anyone to move around.

When Iron Reagan began to play, things got quickly out of hand. People crushed up against the stage as the pit writhed and pulsed with the music. A glass was thrown shattering on a speaker cabinet, showering the stage in broken glass and booze. People were knocked down and thrown about, only to be picked up so as to do it all again. And photographers were no exception as this was a no holds barred event.

Iron Reagan features members of Municipal Waste/Cannabis Corpse, Darkest Hour, and Mammoth Grinder with Tony Foresta (vocals), Phil Hall (guitar), Mark Bronzino (guitar), Rob Skotis (bass), and Ryan Parrish (drums).

Iron Reagan’s The Tyranny of Will available 9/16 via Relapse Records and is currently available for pre-order here. This will be a must have for any thrashers music collection.
