The Central Florida Fairgrounds was host to an art exhibit, a midway fair, and a rock festival to shake the earth this past Saturday, thanks to 101one WJRR.
Orlando rock station, 101one WJRR‘s, Earthday Birthday 23 (EDBD) celebrated Earth Day, an annual event when people demonstrate their support for environmental protection, by bringing the noise.
Performances from bands included 311, Breaking Benjamin, Bush, and Dirty Heads, and others across two main stages and a freshly-debuted indoor acoustic stage. The Fiasco Midway Fair offered fun for all ages with funnel cakes, a fun slide, helicopter rides, a BMX show and more. Food vendors for every festival-goer palette offered grub from turkey legs and Greek salads to tacos and chicken tenders. Nestled in the center of the stages, the Art Walk showcased local talent and presented painted guitars, modified dolls, and sculptures galore. Rounding off the night was a fireworks show comparable to that of Disney right before 311’s set.
As always, WJRR did a stand-up job in organizing and running this entertainment extravaganza. Based on feedback by many festival goers, the countdown is on for Earthday Birthday 24.
The EDBD 23 lineup included 311, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, Bush, Halestorm, Dirty Heads, Trivium, Escape The Fate, Red Sun Rising, Lacey Sturm, Bobaflex, From Ashes To New, Dorothy, Fit For Rivals, New Years Day, Cilver, along with additional local and regional artists.
