Tommy Castro is an award wining rock and blues guitarist hailing from California. Since the mid 90’s Tommy has recorded in the region of 16 albums, which is no small feet.

Tommy recently stripped down his band to a four piece known as Tommy Castro and The Painkillers. The band features Randy McDonald (bass), James Pace (keyboards), Bowen Brown (drums), and Tommy Castro (guitar/vocals).

Last year the band released their latest offering, the excellent The Devil You Know on Alligator Records. The album is a veritable whose who of the rock and blues scene, featuring a whole host of Tommy’s friends including Joe Bonamassa, Samantha Fish, Marcia Ball and Tab Beniot to name but a few.

Castro closed out 2014 with an extensive tour of the US alongside Samantha Fish and Tab Benoit titled the Six Strings Down Tour.

Adam Kennedy recently caught up with Tommy to talk about The Devil You Know, The Painkillers, touring with Tab and Samantha, what the band have in store for 2015 as well as his influences.
