San Francisco thrashers Death Angel, with special guests Orchid and Black Cat Grave during their, The First Ever Another Christmas Show at Slim’s in San Francisco.

San Francisco Bay Area thrash legends Death Angel just wrapped up two special post Christmas shows at the Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood, and Slim’s in San Francisco, and it was a nice nod back in time to the post holiday shows they played in San Francisco many years ago.

Former Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick joined the band on stage in Hollywood for the song, “Empty” which was played live for the first time ever. Their former guitar player Gus Pepa joined in for the rarely played live song “Bored” in San Francisco.

Joining Death Angel for both shows were Bay Area natives and fellow label-mates Orchid, with Black Cat Grave also on the bill in San Francisco.

National Rock Review photographer Raymond Ahner was in the photo pit at Slim’s to capture the event.

Raymond Ahner is a professional freelance photographer residing in San Francisco, California. Growing up in the Bay Area, Raymond was lucky enough to witness both the Punk and Thrash Metal scene of the 1980's explode literally right in front of his eyes. It was a pretty special time in his life, and is what instilled his love for live music. Over the years Raymond has been fortunate enough to combine his passion for live music with his love of photography. And although he will always love shooting the big arena Rock show, it is in a tiny, packed to the rafters club were he his most at home with his gear.
