Chris Robinson Brotherhood returned to NYC to play a sold out show. The tour included two back-to-back sold out performances.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood have been busy touring extensively throughout the midwest in February.  The New York City shows stood out as fans were treated to two intimate performances, with two different double sets each night.

Aside from playing original material, the band performed covers including the Black Crowes.  Opening the show in the first set was Big Joe Turner and his Blues Kings “Shake Rattle, and Roll,  and included  the Black Crowes “Little Lizzie Mae”,  Slim Harpo’s “The Music’s Hot” and Hoyt Axton’s “Never Been to Spain.” The band closed the first set with “Rosalee” from their debut album Big Moon Ritual. The second set included the beautiful “Reflections on a Broken Mirror” and the haunting “Burn Slow.” The set closed with “Sunday Sound” off of Chris Robinson’s solo album New Earth Mud.

Even with a long double set, the band showed no sign  of slowing down. They encored with O.V. Wright’s ” That’s How Strong My Love is”  and “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It) by The Rolling Stones.

The spirit of rock n roll is not about impressive stage set up ,costumes, and choreographed moves. It’s about music, song, and soul and above all playing from the heart. Chris Robinson Brotherhood embody that sentiment. All you really need is a guitar and a microphone.

About The Author

Anya was born and raised in Donestk, Ukraine, and emigrated to NYC when she was 8 years old. In her early teens she discovered Power Metal and many artists from the European metal scene. Her passion for photography grew from her concert experiences. There is nothing more exciting than capturing those small moments on stage that musicians have with their instruments. She enjoys taking photos from the crowd and is not afraid to step into mosh pit to take photos of the fans in action. Photography has influenced Anya in other ways. When she's not in the photo pit she can be found teaching preschool where photography is a big part of my daily curriculum. Photography is more than a hobby it is a passion, which allows her to combine all her interests into one.
