Children of Bodom roll into San Francisco and play to a ravenous crowd.

Supporting their latest record I Worship Chaos, Finnish metal masters Children of Bodom hit the stage with “Needled 24/7,” and proceeded to whip the crowd into a frenzy as they played songs that spanned their nine-album catalog. Singer and lead guitarist Alex Laiho was his usual masterful self, and together, he and the band tore through “Living Dead Beat,” “In Your Face,” “Angels Don’t Kill,” and “Downfall.” The crowd definitely approved, as the ones up against the barricade were headbanging with their fists in the air, while the ones behind them moshed up a frenzy in a circle pit that grew and grew throughout the night.

Direct support on the I Worship Chaos tour comes from Abbath, the latest project of former Immortal frontman Abbath Doom Occulta. His black metal was the perfect antidote to get the crowd pumped and primed for the headliners. Highlights from his 50-minute set included “Ashes of the Damned,” “Winterbane,” and the Immortal classics “Solarfall,” “One By One,” and “Tyrants.”

The tour continues well into December, so check it out when it comes to your town.
