Anvil played at The Stache in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 14th, 2014. Opening up for them was Tru-Burn and Deadwood Stone.

This Canadian trio is comprised of Steve ‘Lips’ Kudlow (Vocals, Guitar), Robb Reiner (Drums), and Sal Italiano (Bass, Backing Vocals).

The show started with Lips standing on the floor in the middle of the audience. He played and screamed into his guitar (as a microphone) welcoming everyone to the show.

The audience was pretty subdued before they started, but this seemed to get them riled up as there were horns in the air and screams of approval for the rest of the night. Lips shared a story between songs about Ozzy Osbourne coming up to him at an awards show telling him their documentary film, The Story of Anvil, was “inspirational.”
