Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan based radio station, 89X, hosted their annual Christmas show, The Night 89X Stole Christmas, at The Fillmore in Detroit on 12/17/2013. 89x brought an exciting group of bands together headlined by Cage The Elephant and helped the fans forget about the snow and single digit temperatures that graced the area the last few days ahead of the Christmas Holiday.

Detroit’s own IAmDynamite opened the show and the powerful duo did not disappoint and set the table for the rest of the evening.  Christopher Martin (guitar, vocals) and Chris Phillips (drums, vocals) bring a sound most would think is coming from a full band.

All the way from Oxford, England, Foals was the second group on the bill. They are quickly gaining much attention here in the states with an amazing live show.

Blue October was next and this powerful foursome out of Texas surely could have headlined the show.  With experience in Billboard’s Top 10 chart, the group surely has a core following whom were present in this energetic crowd.

Headlining the show was Cage The Elephant. These guys brought an intense amount of energy, especially frontman Matthew Shultz, who seemed to cover just about every square inch of the stage.   From Bowling Green, Kentucky, they have gained huge following in both the U.S. and U.K. and have recently released their third record, Melophobia.
