The Coma Ecliptic Tour made a stop in Norfolk bringing Between The Buried And Me to The NorVA with support from The Contortionist and Animals As Leaders.

For a Saturday night show with no local support the show started with The Contortionist taking the stage. For such an early show there was a really good crowd, although the event did not sell out. The crowd response was mixed, some liked them and others were on the fence in regards to their style of progressive metal, which used a lot of tempo changes.

The crowd favorite was Animals As Leaders and they did not disappoint their fans as they played nine songs from their third album The Joy Of Motion, before playing “CAFO,” from their first album Animals As Leaders, to close out the set to thunderous applause.

By the time Between the Buried And Me started their set some of the crowd had left, obviously satisfied seeing Animals As Leaders. This did not deter the band as they launched into “Selkies: The Endless Obsession, quickly followed by “The Coma Machine” from their new album Coma Ecliptic released on July 10th, of this year. The rest of the performance was older material, including their encore “White Walls” from the 2007 release Colors.
