Follow along with us as we hit the road with Fates Warning!
Hey there! This article is an appetizer/kickoff for the tour diary I’ll be writing over the next couple of weeks while we tour America as direct support for Fates Warning. Yes, friends, FATES WARNING; prog metal legends! This tour will be destroying cities all through October, and I’m going to tell you all about it from the INSIDE.
Ok. Let’s get the formalities out of the way. I’m Pete; I play keys in ISD. I love each and every one of you. Ok, I might have overstepped a bit there, but if you’re reading this, we share some level of affinity.
My name has been randomly chosen from a hat, filled with slips of paper all containing my name, to write a tour diary while we’re on the road. I feel like old man lady luck was really on my side there. But wait, there’s more!
This tour diary has also been selected to be featured on National Rock Review! That’s much better than just posting it on our Facebook page, which makes me pretty happy. Needless to say, now I’m feeling the pressure to deliver some seriously tasty slabs of info to your various backlit screens. Therefore, I’ll probably be writing these entries drunk.
Correction; I will definitely be writing these entries drunk.
Not this one though! As I write this now, I’m ignoring my day job and trying to prepare for the tour. We leave tomorrow, and start the trek from Detroit to Hartford, Connecticut for the first show on Friday, Oct. 9 at the Webster Theater.
From my experience, I know these next few days will be filled with an information overload for us, and I can’t wait. We will be meeting the people we’ll be spending time with over the next few weeks, getting our tour itinerary, all that happy crap.
My plan is to update this diary daily with whatever adventures we get ourselves into. The goal for me is to give anyone who is interested a peek into what goes on in the life of a touring band.; a band who is trying to increase their fan base playing shows for people who may not have heard us before. It’s going to be a fun couple of weeks full of hard work, so hopefully I’ll be able to convey some of that to our fans.
