Bjorn Englen began his trek to the American music scene back in 1993, moving to the states from Sweden where he began playing bass in the early 1980’s.

Inspired and influenced by KISS and other rock acts at a young age, he embraced his musical talents to become one of the more formidable and refined bassists recording and touring on the road today.

Having played in over 1500 live shows and appearing on 30 plus albums, he has toured and recorded with many legendary musicians of rock and roll fame, most recently finishing up a tour with the supergroup Dio Disciples who have traveled the world in celebration of the music and spirit of Ronnie James Dio.

He has also formed the band Soul Sign with vocalist Mark Boals (Uli J. Roth, Yngwie Malmsteen) along with drumm Mike Cancino and guitarist Jan Mengeling. Bjorn has toured the world with Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine and Uli J. Roth in addition to teaching bass clinics at the Los Angeles Music Academy.

He was kind enough to spend some time over the phone with National Rock Review tonight to discuss his recent adventures and future plans.
