From Firewind to working with Ozzy Osbourne to solo projects, Gus G is living the dream.
At 18, Kostas Karamitroudis left Greece and became Gus G, a hard working serious heavy metal guitarist. He enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusettes. Gus did not stay long. He formed Firewind to showcase his skill. By 2009, Gus was personally invited to try out for the guitarist position in Ozzy Osbourne’s band.
Gus G is set to release his second solo album, Brand New Revolution, this summer being his follow-up to I am the Fire, released only a year ago. His tour set to start July 18 in Greece will take him through a good portion of Europe. National Rock Review caught up with him to talk about his newest project, touring in his country of birth, working with Ozzy and more.
