Ego will eventually destroy even the brightest stars if they aren’t careful. Then there are the original gangsters of metal that live on making music. Take, for instance, Edsel Dope.

So, Edsel Dope (vocals), Acey Slade (bass), Virus (guitar), and Racci Shay (drums) came back together over the prospect of drinking Russian vodka again to the original lineup of the American metal band, Dope. With the og’s coming back together, the Die Mother Fucker Die Tour was born. Oh, we forgot to mention that there happens to be new material coming down the pipeline from these guys in the form of Blood Money Part 1.

News broke this morning that the band will be playing their first headline show in the London area at the 02 Academy later this year. Not that Edsel would let that go by without mentioning it in our talk.

This was, by far, the easiest interview this music journalist has ever done. By asking one simple question, Edsel took the reigns and rattled off details like he knew what I was going to ask and wanted to be me to the punch. That’s okay too. The National Rock Review cantina at the Northern Command is fully stocked with said Russian vodka and we wanted to kill two metal ravens with one kidney transplant.

So come with us my friends, into a world completely at the mercy of one man’s plans for world domination, a reuniting of the Four Horseman of the fabled Apocalypse, and some damn fine new music. Go to our Twitter or Facebook page(s) and let us know what you thought of the interview. I’ll be at the bar buying the first round when they come to town because I lost a bet with Edsel. Wish me luck.
