Zakk Wylde shreds up a storm at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.

30-Aug-2016: Performing material from his fist two solo records, Book of Shadows I and the recently released Book of Shadows II, Zakk showed a side of himself seldom seen by fans.

While loaded with his typical hard rock guitar work, this evening was more about the soulful and bluesy songs that fit perfectly with Zakk’s persona as an introspective songwriter and stellar guitarist. Highlights included “Sold My Soul,” “Yesterday’s Tears,” and “Lay Me Down.” His set seemed shorter than usual, but when you’re Zakk Wylde, there is no need for any filler. You just walk out on stage and take care of business.

National Rock Review photographer Raymond Ahner was on hand to report.
