Zeke’s Rock n Roll BBQ, in Ferndale, MI, saw the return of Detroit’s own Skeemin NoGoods!
The Skeemin No Goods front man John Speck, fresh off the bus, returned to “The D” from his previous residence in Texas. Reunited with drummer Chuck Burns (Speedball, Seduce, Negative Approach) and bassist Ron Sakowski (Necros, Laughing Hyenas, Easy Action), the band celebrated his return with a gig featuring this monster trio of Detroit renowned purveyors of noise and fury.
The threesome came to rock, and that’s exactly what they did. Summoning the spirits of legendary Detroiters, The MC5, they kicked out the jams. Take equal parts Motorhead, AC/DC, KISS, and MC5, put them in a blender with axle grease, metal shavings, determination, and everything that makes the Motor City the hard-working town it is, and that’s what you’re in for. There was no slowing down this juggernaut. It was nonstop bass thumping, drum pounding, guitar slamming rock and roll! The crowd was given over 90 minutes of fierce, in your face, ear bleeding Detroit rock. The venue was packed as the crowd devoured this smoking slab of Detroit rock and roll.
In case you missed it, their next gig is Friday, July 31st at Small’s in Hamtramck, MI with Against the Grain and others.
Set List: I Want Something, State of Grace, Punch the Clock, Downtown, Gimme the Gas, Supercharged, Precious and Grace, I Don’t Like You, Get That Shit Out, Dan Kelly Blues, Politicians, Commando, Lot To Answer To, No Ties, Up Your Sleeves, Young Man Blues
