The fourth annual Bud Light River City Rockfest draws record crowd over Memorial Day weekend.
29-May-2016: More than 27,800 crowded San Antonio’s AT&T Center for the fourth annual Bud Light River City Rockfest, surpassing 26,000 last year and 14,000 the previous years.
The four-stage festival included the Fan Duel Stage that featured small local groups like Lynnwood King & The Revival, Mud River, Donella Drive, The Heroine and Wild Throne. The AA Best Bail Bonds Stage featured Red Sun Rising, DevilDriver, Texas Hippie Coalition, The Sword, Hatebreed, P.O.D., and Sevendust. The main Bud Light Stage showcased Avatar, Pop Evil, Hellyeah, Sixx:AM, Bullet For My Valentine, Megadeth, Scorpions, and Disturbed.
The Hellzapoppin Stage was new to the festival this year where Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow — a world renown theatrical rock n’ roll circus and stunt show — performed three shows throughout the day.
The security staff was impeccable, helping body surfing fans out of the pit, providing water, and spraying down fans to provide relief from the heat.
Our photographer, Ralph Arvesen, was on hand to capture festival moments.
