Portland, Oregon’s Red Fang bit the crowd at The Magic Stick in Detroit, MI on June 2nd as their 2014 Situation: Awesome! Tour rolled into town.

The venue was packed, and for good reason. Red Fang delivers a heavy, yet smooth soundtrack for a Monday evening Magic Stick concert experience. This stoner metal band has heated up venues with their incredible live show since releasing their first self-titled album in 2009. Red Fang, released by Sargent House Records, compiled the band’s first two limited edition EPs onto one release. Shortly after, the band signed with underground heavyweight Relapse Records for their 2011 Murder the Mountains and 2013 Whales and Leeches albums.

The band has built a solid fan base with their relentless touring schedule. Not only have they headlined their own club tours but, along the way, they were part of 2011’s Metalliance tour, played the Jagermeister stage on 2011’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, toured with Mastodon in 2011 and 2012, as well as the 2013 Australian Soundwave Festival.

This was one of the band’s final U.S. appearances as they are getting ready to head off to Europe for a summer of touring.
