Young music fans thronged to Off Broadway for an intimate night of indie pop.

Never Shout Never has long been associated with solo artist, Christofer Drew, but the Joplin, MO native has re-branded and now includes a full band within the moniker. This new infusion has led to an updated, yet still true to its roots, sound that includes some new age influences among others that Drew and the band have managed to meld nicely with the established and expected melodies.

Hayley Kiyoko is a Los Angeles-based and multi-instrumental singer/songwriter/actress. Although Kiyoko plays nearly all instruments on her releases, on tour she needed a second musician onstage to help handle the duties. Enter Lawrence William IV, who played guitar and keyboards while Kiyoko pounded out the rhythm on drums, sang, and danced.

Me Like Bees are fellow Missourians, also from Joplin. Their sound seems influenced by bands such as Modest Mouse and The White Stripes, yet with an air of originality. Vocalist/guitarist Luke Sheafer’s thought provoking and entertaining lyrics, along with his unorthodox singing style, are emphasized by the musicianship of his bandmates, Pete Burton (lead guitar), Nick Bynum (bass), and Timothy Cote (drums).

About The Author

Colleen was always the kid with the camera, taking snapshots of anything and everything she found interesting. Fast-forward to her teen years, where she spent much spare time and money on seeing as many live rock 'n roll acts as possible, both established and up-and-coming bands, and having a camera in hand. Colleen works to capture those moments that draw the viewer in and define the mood and energy of the artists and their performances.
