The Toledo thrash artists bring the Summon The Destroyer tour to the Riffhouse Pub with local support from Rotten, Generator, and The Pestilence Choir.
First to play was the Virginia Beach-based thrash/death metal band, Rotten. They played as a two piece since the departure of their bass player. Their set included the songs “Welcome To Hell” and “Torture Room”.
Norfolk-based Generator got a few people to mosh as they roared through their set of songs including “Grindstone” and “Wolves Behind Dead Eyes.” Jack Sakrals, the lead singer, offered up a ticket to their show at The NorVA on the May 21 to the one person who could create the most chaos. Several people responded and a winner was crowned.
Virginia Beach-based thrashers, The Pestilence Choir, played a set that included three new songs from their yet to be named album, as well as music from Gravity Hits. Many in the crowd came specifically to see them play and were not disappointed by their set.
For Mobile Deathcamp, this is the eleventh stop on their three-month, seventy-two stop tour in support of their third album, Summon The Destroyer, released on March 14. Most of their set included songs from their third album, including “Deferred Pilgrimage,” “Compelled” and “Perennial Extraction.” The ended the night with “Negative Minds” from Black Swamp Rising.
For those who managed to make it out on a Monday night, all left satisfied. The night turned out to be anything but another start of the work week.
