Rockstar Energy’s Mayhem Festival rocked the Midwest for one night returning Heavy Metal back to Council Bluffs, IA.

Heavy Metal fans from across the Midwest were treated to a night of high energy fist pumping music when Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival made a pit stop in Council Bluffs, IA. Held at Harrah’s Stir Cove, this stop on the tour was a scaled down version from the normal dozen plus band lineup. Headlining Mayhem was the legendary band, Slayer with supporting acts King Diamond, Hell Yeah, Devil Wears Prada, and White Chapel.

With the weather being a perfect sunny day, Mayhem brought out a large crowd of excited Heavy Metal fans. I talked to one fan named Matt who drove from Kansas City. “I was disappointed there wasn’t a stop on the tour in KC, but I sure as hell wasn’t going to miss this one!” Matt said. Matt said he has never been to Council Bluffs but was glad he made the three plus hour trip. “I am having a great time!” he added.

About The Author

From the first time Casey played one of his mom's old records on her pioneer turntable, he knew what he wanted to be, a rock star. Everything changed after seeing his first concert, Def Leopard back in the 80's. It is one thing to listen to a great song on the radio, but to see a great performer on stage performing that same song is what he loves. His life long passion for live music has intersected with a more recent passion of photography to once again change everything by introducing him to the world of concert photography. Getting a great shot of an amazing performance and seeing the reactions to a photograph can be exhilarating. Being a concert photographer can be chaotic, exciting, high energy, obstacle ridden, right in the mix place to be while trying to concentrate on getting great band interaction and emotion.
