Going solo has been good for Lacey Sturm, former vocalist for Flyleaf. She and her band rocked the packed house in Florida with her first solo album, Life Screams.

All of five-foot-nothing, Lacey Sturm has a commanding stage presence and the voice to back it up. This little dynamo packs a punch with a distinctive high-pitched rock voice. If you ever hear her voice as a guest on another artist’s work, you know it right away.

She has a captivating style and pours her heart out during her performance. At times, she sang from a curled up position on the floor. Her passion is truly mesmerizing.

With her husband Josh Sturm on guitar, Tom Gascon on bass, and Ben Hull on drums, the show had everyone’s attention from the first note. She sang many tunes from her solo album and obliged fans with some Flyleaf numbers as well.

The venue, The Haven Lounge, is a local hangout for many in the local music scene. They have phenomenal sound and have been host to some national acts recently with more coming soon. Check out their website below for upcoming shows.

The former Flyleaf vocalist is touring in support of her first solo album, Life Screams, which she released in early 2016. The album – packed with spiritual messages of faith and hope, and a hard-edged rock sound – hit No. 8 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart.

Lacey is also a published author. Her first book, entitled “Reason: How I Discovered a Life Worth Living,” was published in 2014. She has a second book, “The Mystery: Finding Love in a World of Broken Lovers,” due out in October 2016.
