Hammer Fight brought their thrash attack to Chesapeake with support from Crack House and Psychosomatic and local support from Macerated, Vomit Stain and Kombat Wombat.
The evening started off with a battle set between the death grind band Macerated from Virginia Beach and Montpelier-based gore thrashers Vomit Stain. Macerated started off with a song and Vomit Stain followed with one of theirs until the set time had elapsed. The winners of the battle set were the audience who got to hear two distinct styles of metal played by some of the Hampton Roads best bands.
The battle set was quickly followed by the Kombat Wombat maniacs from Newport News, Virginia who got the crowd moving with a selection of crossover and punk songs.
Crack House, a thrash/punk band from New Jersey who is providing tour support for Hammer Fight made their Hampton Roads debut. The crowd was headbanging in approval as they played songs from their freshman release, The Hits Just Keep On Coming, including “Crack House” and “March of the Crackhead.”
The Salinas, California-based thrashers, Psychosomatic, also supporting Hammer Fight played a brutal set of thrash tunes including one from their new album, Clicking Sound of a Hammer Pulled Back, released September 18th. This was their last night out with Hammer Fight and will continue their tour throughout October and November and hook up with thrash veterans Havok for dates from Nov 08 through Nov 17.
Hammer Fight closed the evening playing songs from their two albums Hammer Fight and Chug Of War as they joked and had fun with the fans and the other bands. Despite the small crowd, it was a good time and all the bands kicked ass.
