Greg Holden impresses fans in Nashville with special guest, Jillian Jacqueline.
Headlining his first US tour, singer/songwriter Greg Holden and bandmates, Brian Griffin (drums), Tofer Brown (bass), and Bryan Brown (guitar), make a tour stop at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville. Making the evening even more special, tonight’s set was broadcast live on Nashville Sunday Night for WRLT – Lightning 100.
Greg opened his set with a brand new song “A Woman Like You” followed by the meaningful “Save Yourself” from his recently released album, Chase The Sun. “The American Dream” followed, a song about a homeless couple on the subway in New York and we were on our way to an evening of great music.
“Down to the Wire” and the sing-along song, “Give It Away,” preceded solo acoustic versions of “Home,” a song Greg co-wrote with Drew Pearson featured on American Idol, and the emotionally moving “Boys in the Street,” which received a huge ovation from the appreciative crowd.
With the whole band back on stage, Greg rolls into a fantastic version of “It’ll All Come Out” followed by “Side of the Road.” He ended the hour-long live radio broadcast with a rocking version of “Hold On Tight” that drew another huge ovation.
Now that the radio program was over, Greg was able to “loosen his tie” so to speak as he started his encore set with a thunderous rendition of ‘Hell and Back” that had everyone moving. Next, he invited Jillian Jacqueline back on stage for “The Next Life.” Greg finished this fantastic evening with a rowdy version of “The Bar A” urging those in attendance to sing the chorus along with him.
After the show Greg, was at the merch table signing posters, taking pictures, and talking to anyone who wanted to spend a minute with him. Judging by the remarks from those in line, everyone was more than satisfied.
The wonderful singer/songwriter, Jillian Jacqueline, opened the evening in a fantastic way. Jillian, along with Tofer Brown on acoustic guitar, performed her original material including “Kid’s These Days” co-written with Tofer, “Holier than Thou,” and her new single, “Prime,” which showcased her electrifying voice.
Jillian’s set also included a cover of “Habits (Stay High)” by Swedish singer/songwriter, Tove Lo. “Sad Girls” co-written with Lori McKenna and Tofer Brown followed before ending with “Somebody.”
