Holy horror hijinks! A fun time was had by all as Fort Wayne’s favorite punk rock venue, The Brass Rail, played host for a night of psychobilly, horror punk goodness.

Local hometown favorites, the Lurking Corpses, started out the evening with their distinctive blend of horror punk, thrash, and death metal beats, reminiscent of the Misfists, Danzig, and Judas Priest. You cannot help but smile as you rock out with Lord Vladimir Von Ghoul and his crew of creepy cloaked cronies. These guys have hit the streets since 2001 and do not disappoint. The band’s 5th album, Workin’ for the Devil, is set for release in August on Hell’s Headbangers Records. You can check out their latest video for “The Leech and the Worm” at www.vimeo.com/94708604.

The headliners of the night were Canada’s “reigning monarchs of psychobilly,” Creepshow. Alternative Press named Creepshow “one of the top bands you need to know about,” and they were not lyin’. While on a short tour with the Reverend Horton Heat, the band made a quick layover in Fort Wayne to fill the stage with energy.

Rarely do you see a band that pushes themselves this hard. Band members were battling illness and injury, with the lead singer puking backstage between songs, but you would never know it considering how hard these guys rocked. Badass, in your face front woman, Kenda Legaspi, commands the stage effortlessly. She is raw, edgy, and oh so sexy. From dancing atop the bar, to striking a pose on the upright bass, these guys were drenched in sweat and full of love for the crowd.

They filled the night with favorites from their début album, Sell Your Soul (2006), all the way through to their latest album, Life After Death (2013), before coming down to mingle and take pics with their fans . The current lineup consists of Kenda Legaspi (vox, guitar), Sean “Sickboy” Mcnab (bass), Kristian “The Reverend” Rowles (keys), Sando Sanchioni (drums), and Chuck Coles (guitar).

This night was everything a horror fan could have hoped for, and more.
