It was a memorable night for many Erie, PA metal heads as Battlecross played the B.T. Theater for its second show in their Winter Warrior Tour.
The local melodic death metal band, Saevitia, kicked the night off with a punch. The tag team of singers and amazing instrumentals has turned out to be a major success for these guys. Starting off not long ago, they have played as many shows as possible and their fan base continues grows. Their onstage energy surged throughout their set and Saevitia did a great job opening for an artist such as War of Ages and Battlecross. They will be taking time off to write for their first EP and hope to be playing shows as soon as February 2015.
Speaking of locals, War of Ages comes home as they are from Erie, PA. With family and friends in the crowd, they did not disappoint one bit. The hometown boys gave 110% to their huge local fan base with a concert those in attendance won’t soon forget. Throughout the night, it was obvious War of Ages garnered the best overall crowd reaction. The more they played, the more crowd surfers were coming at them. With no fear, lead singer Leroy Hamp joined in on the action as well by stage diving into the crowd. In the end, the crowd was impressed by their set and is looking forward to seeing them back at the B.T. Theater.
Wretched had to be on their A-game following the War of Ages and did just that. Without hesitation, they launched straight into some of their heaviest songs. As the band played, the pit grew and the crowd became rowdy with more than a few bumps and bruises earned via the mosh. Overall, the band was huge a hit and more success is likely for them in the future.
Finally, it was time for headliners Battlecross to take the stage. The crowd exploded as their set began, fueled by the pent-up anticipation of fans waiting for the last month for this show. A giant circle pit with Battlecross playing live is always a great time. The band played their set as they frenzied crowd responded to a point where the majority were involved in the pit and having the time of their lives.
Battlecross are climbing the metal rankings and it is not hard to imagine them making it to the top in the next few years. Be sure to check them out on this tour as you will not be disappointed.
