The legendary rock band STYX is preparing to embark on their 2016 tour, making a return visit to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan for a night of classic rock hits.
The current STYX lineup includes Tommy Shaw (vocals and guitars), James “JY” Young (guitars and vocals), Lawrence Gowan (keyboards and vocals), Ricky Phillips (bass), and Todd Sucherman (drums).  On special occasions, a surprise visit by original bassist Chuck Panozzo may happen. This lineup has been together for over a decade and has toured extensively with an average of 100 shows per year.
STYX formed in Chicago in the early 70s and had gone on to become a multi-Platinum band with 37 albums and 31 singles, many of which are considered among rock’s most beloved songs.
Tommy Shaw joined in 1976 with the release of Crystal Ball. They went to become the first group to achieve four triple platinum albums in a row with The Grand Illusion (1977), Pieces Of Light (1978), Cornerstone (1979), and Paradise Theater (1981), the latter being their biggest release to date.
In 2012, Eagle Rock Entertainment released the double-disc album, Regeneration Volume I & II. They followed with Live At The New Orleans Arena Las Vegas in 2015.
On Friday, April 8 at 8:00 pm, STYX will be “Rocking The Paradise” of Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Ticket and show information is available on the band’s website. Â
