The 2nd Annual Louisville Dead Fest includes 30 local bands anchored by Boner City and Stagecoach Inferno; proceeds to benefit Girls Rock Louisville.
Louisville Dead Fest is an all-local music festival featuring the best in rock, punk, and metal from the Louisville area. The Dead Fest show concept, formed by local radio host Jared Riot at Riotheart Media, once known as Keep Louisville Loud, is focused on growing the local Louisville music community.
In the spirit of keeping things local, several local sponsors are supporting the event, including The Highlands Tap Room, Spinelli’s Pizza, Never-Nervous, Dandelion, and Identity Customs Guestroom Records.
Proceeds from the event will support Girls Rock Louisville who aims to empower girls and gender non-conforming youth from all backgrounds by exploring music creation in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Proceeds will also fund a film project documenting the impact Louisville music has had on the people of the city, as well as it’s greater impact throughout the United States. This project is titled, “Louisville is Dead: A History of Louisville Punk”.
In addition to headliners, Boner City and Stagecoach Inferno, great local groups like Black God, Greyhaven, Call Me Bronco, Cryptic Hymn, Dick Titty Blood Punch Hymn, Bearhammer and Belushi Speed Ball will provide support over the two-day fest.
During the weekend, there will numerous booths at the bazaar featuring local artists, artisans, and smiths along with plenty of kid’s activities and free games to keep the little ones entertained as well.
This weekend will be showcasing some of the best of the Louisville music scene and promises to be an unforgettable event.
