Summer festivals aren’t that far away, at least that’s the positive way to see things and new details have been released on Farmageddon.

It was announced, Tyson Travnik and his show, Farmageddon, will host its third annual edition of Western Canada’s loudest open air metal festival from June 11-14, 2015 in Ryley, AB. It looks to be a line up of over 30 bands from across the country and abroad. The festival was conceived in 2012 by Travnik, whom is known in the metal scene through his sound engineering duties and promotional services. After noticing the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, he wanted to re-create the intimate setting and host a venue with no internal borders up north of the States.

Last year’s bill was a virtual who’s who of Canadian acts. The bands: Havok, Wretched, Dark Forest, Sanktuary, Psychotic Gardening, Death Toll Rising, Tyrant’s Demise, Eyam, Without Mercy, Scimitar, Scythia, Vile Insignia, Kyoktys, Gatekrashor, Kryosphere, Eye Of Horus, Mortillery, Ironstorm, Moosifix, Bloated Pig, Armifera, Witch Of The Waste, Monarch Sky, Druidus, Skymir, Hazzerd, Cryptosis, Gales Of Avalon, Mongol, Riot City, Display Of Decay, After Earth, Demise Without Reason, Grendel’s Awakening, Last Horizon, Idolatry, and Bleed.

“I’m looking forward to having Farmageddon return for its third year and promise it will dwarf its previous years in terms of attendance, bands and features.” ~ Tyson Travnik

There is news the show is taking submissions from bands interested in performing at the festival and the deadline to apply is Feb 15, 2015. There is also a need with the festival for volunteers to help work the show. Links for anyone interested in either of those can find them to apply on the website.

There will be two levels of participation this coming year. Diablo ($50.00), a single day pass, only redeemable at the festival grounds on Friday, June 12 2015. Hellrider ($100.00), three days, and two nights of heavy metal mayhem. It also includes a special souvenir and free admission to any of their warm-up shows in Calgary, Red Deer, or Edmonton on June 11, 2015. It seems keeping an intimate setting between the bands and their fans along with growth of the metal sub-culture is at the forefront of Farmageddon’s priority.
