The man who gave us the 1982 hit, “Eye of the Tiger,” is back with a lyric video for his new single, “We All Bleed Red.”
After the mass shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Jim Peterik was inspired to write and release “We All Bleed Red,” released exclusively on iTunes. The song is about the violence, intolerance, and hatred that we see everywhere, and how we are all the same inside. In other words, Jim wants people to realize that we all bleed red.
The lyrics, “In the night’s burning hell / We hear the sound of thundering of gunfire,” describe the frightening moment that the people in the Pulse Nightclub had to endure that night. The song also touches on the topic that we’re all human, just shaped in different forms. Its meaningful lyrics like this that people need to hear more of after all the hatred going on in the world today.
Peterik is best known as the founder of Survivor and co-writer of “Eye of the Tiger,” the theme from Rocky III. It was that song that got him nominated for a Grammy and a People’s Choice award, as well as an Oscar. He also found success in the band, The Ides of March, and as a songwriter of hits for .38 Special, Sammy Hagar, and the Beach Boys.
After years of being in the music industry, Jim continues to make music regularly touring the European continent with his band, Pride Of Lions.
