Tommy Marz Band are preparing to drop their double CD set titled Bringing Alpha/Being Beta and have released a video teaser for “Star.â€
Collectively known as the Tommy Marz Band, Tommy Marz (vocals/guitar), Jason Tucker (drums), Chris Alef (guitar/bass) and sometimes fill-in Allie Evenson (bass) have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their soon to be released double CD set, Bringing Alpha/Being Beta.
After playing for over a decade with his rock band GoToZero, Tommy Marz recorded his first solo album a few years ago and intended it to be a one-time creative experience. Quite often, pop artists will have a desire to record a rock n’ roll album after years of recording pop records. But with Marz, it was the other way around. After years of writing, performing and recording predominately rock music, Tommy decided to take a softer approach on his first solo album Rival.
Marz’s cover of George Michael’s “Faith†spawned a video that went on to gain over a hundred thousand views on YouTube and received placements on cable networks, such as NBC and MTV. Marz thought there was a market for that style of music, and decided to record a follow-up album, Play. Listen. Rewind. Repeat. The 2013 record contained the single “A Kid In The 1980s†and placed at #17 in the SDC Radio Networks top songs of 2013.
Now, along with two members of GoToZero, Jason Tucker and Chris Alef, plus new-comer Allie Evenson, Marz is going for the best of both worlds. Their upcoming double CD set, Bringing Alpha/Being Beta, will contain one full album of rock music and one full album of pop music.
Marz has given National Rock Review reader’s the exclusive first look at the video teaser for the upcoming single “Star.†Check it out and let us know what you think!
