Shining Releases New Music Video ‘Blackjazz Rebels’
For those who missed out on seeing SHINING live earlier this year as they shared the stage with The Dillinger Escape Plan, fear not! The Norwegian “blackjazz” outfit have managed to capture their powerful live energy, which LA Weekly likened to a “sonically pulverizing industrial-metal beast,” in their brand new music video for the song “Blackjazz Rebels.” Check it out on Metal Injection HERE or below:
SHINING’s 2013 release “One One One” earned extensive critical acclaim, as well as a nomination for “Metal Album of the Year” at the Norwegian Grammys. Lauded as “instantly memorable” (Pitchfork), the nine-track release — recorded by Sean Beaven (NIN, Marilyn Manson, Slayer) — features a “corrosive and creative hybrid of industrial vocals and beats, jazz signatures and black metal aesthetics†(Noisey). SHINING frontman Jørgen Munkeby recently lent his saxophone chops and vocals to a track on guitar legend Marty Friedman’s new solo album “Inferno” titled “Meat Hook,” which you can listen to HERE. You can also hear his swooning saxophone on Devin Townsend’s Casualties of Cool release on the song “Moon” HERE.
