The Rockstar Mayhem Fest lands in Colorado on a stormy day for a very wet show at Red Rocks.

It was a windy, rainy Sunday afternoon at Red Rocks Amphitheater, but it didn’t stop the heavy metal fans from pouring in for the show. Red Rocks only has one big stage so this stop on the tour didn’t include the smaller Victory stage, just the main stage. This show may have only had six of the usual thirteen bands, but it was still an amazing night.

First up, was the Australian band, Thy Art is Murder. Singer CJ McMahon hit the stage with his raincoat on as he belted out songs off their new album Holy War. He immediately jumped the rail and headed up in the stands to sing his entire first song in the middle of the crowd.

Next up was the six-piece Whitechapel who got cut short by a song or two due to the pouring rain. The weather finally started clearing up as The Devil Wears Prada took the stage in support of their new EP Space which will release next month.

Chad and the boys from Hellyeah brought beautiful weather out with them, and as always they put on one hell of a show. King Diamond had a very elaborate stage set that fit perfectly with his theatrical music. Unfortunately, he couldn’t use his big backdrops due to the high winds that were still blowing through the amphitheater.

Last, but certainly not least, Slayer came out to a now packed venue and put on an incredible show that left the crowd feeling as high as the altitude. They had an amazing stage set with flamethrowers all across the back of the stage and a huge screen that constantly went through images that went perfect with the rest of the show.
