Arizona-based sludge/punk band Lody Kong released their debut album last month via Mascot Label Group.

Lody Kong was formed by brothers Zyon and Igor Cavalera, sons of Max and Gloria Cavalera. Their father is Max Cavalera of Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy. The band recently released their debut album, Dreams and Visions, following a tour opening for Soulfly. Lody Kong set up shop back in 2011 and features Zyon Cavalera (drums), Igor Cavalera (vocals/guitar), John Bauer (guitar), and Shanks (bass). The band recently released their new video for the title track of the album itself.

Being part of the Cavalera legacy, Zyon’s heartbeat was added to the beginning of Sepultura’s seminal album, “Refuse/Resist.” He also played drums on two Soulfly albums, namely Savages and Archangel.

National Rock Review recently caught up with Igor Cavalera to talk about their new album, touring with Soulfly, the pressures of living up to the family name and their plans for the rest of the year.
