Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators leave it all on stage at Hamilton Place

Slash and friends hit the stage running in Hamilton, to the delight of a capacity crowd at Hamilton Place. With a career now spanning into its fourth decade, there is no shortage of material for the show. Wearing his trademark top hat and sunglasses, Slash took the audience on an epic journey featuring hits from Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, and his solo projects. A few months past the 100th birthday of Les Paul, Slash did him proud by putting his signature guitar through it’s paces.

Slash’s backup band, the Conspirators, features two Canadians, Brent Fitz and Todd Kerns, who seemed thrilled to be performing back on their native soil. Myles Kennedy (lead vocals), also of Alter Bridge, is a powerhouse singer. A personal favorite of this photographer, it is a thrill to hear him sing his material, as well as covering songs originally performed by rock giants Axl Rose and Scott Weiland. He does a superb job on them all, although the vocal stylings of both couldn’t be further apart.

Slash and company are currently finishing up a tour of North America, in support of the latest release, World On Fire. Following this tour, they will be headed to Europe. If you get a chance to catch them in your area, you won’t be disappointed.

National Rock Review photographer, Mark Skinner, was on hand to take photos.
