Avenged Sevenfold rolled into Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI as part of their The Stage World Tour with special guests Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine.

Having opened for Metallica on their 2017 tour, it’s time for  Avenged Sevenfold to be the headliner. It was a stripped down set but once frontman M. Shadows hit the stage, it was all hardcore metal. Video screens came to life with a light show worthy of TSO, and a runway to get everyone up front and personal.

Opening with “The Stage”, the 17-song set pulled from their entire library of hits. “Burn It Down” from City of Evil and “Critical Acclaim” from their self-titled LP Avenged Sevenfold were great additions to the mix. Halfway through the set, Shadows stopped to dedicate “Nightmare” to a 9-year-old fan who was unable to attend the show after suffering a ruptured appendix. The crowd went crazy as guitarists Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance traded riffs on Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here”. This was second only to Shadows crazy walk across the catwalk.

Opening the night, were metal crowd favorites Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine, who did a great job warming them up.

The tour continues throughout the Midwest for the remainder of January before taking a hard right turn up into the Great White North aka Canada. After which, Avenged feature predominantly throughout the month of May at the various Danny Wimmer Presents book of festivals.
