Their album comes out on May 27, but you can stream it today and hear for yourself what this Southern Rock group has to offer.
Gideon’s Army is releasing a new album, King of the League, on Friday, May 27. The band was formed in 2014 by Robert Bray, the frontman and guitarist of the band.
The album was recorded at Virtue and Vice studio in Brooklyn by Anthony Gallo, known for his work with many other well-known artists, such as Bon Jovi, John Legend, and Norah Jones to name a few. Regarding the album and the band, according to Bray, “I’m mighty proud of King of the League. It took me a while, but I finally found the right group of musicians to complement my songs and the right producer to handle them with care.”
He credits artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, The Black Crowes, and Kings of Leon as influences to their diverse style.
According to Bray, the album covers both love and loneliness, committed relationships and a casual fling, the struggle of poverty, and the simple joys of day-to-day life. He also touches on the sacrifice made by those serving in the military. It is clearly a musical work to which he is personally vested. “My hope is that it adds joy and meaning to your life as it has mine,” said Bray.
Gideon’s Army is set to tour in support of the new album and plans to enter the studio later this year to work on their next album.
